Today we finished a review of Online Learning Communities Research

With a colleague I had the idea, some while back, of writing a review of Networked Learning (online learning communities) Research. This review has been a long while coming. It has taken some time to create a themed analysis that’s also got a robust theoretical framework. We finally managed it. It’s called ‘A Selective Analysis of Empirical Findings in Networked Learning Research in Higher Education: Questing for Coherence’, M. De Laat, V. Lally, R-J Simons and E Wenger (2006). Educational Research Review, 1, 2 pp1-14. You can find the Educational Research Review here. I think it will appear in the next  issue, but could be the first one of 2007.

A Learning Design

Posted in vic's posts by Vic

Designing for learning is a complex task.  Two issues have been of particular concern to me of late, in thinking about this.  One is how to store and use elements of a ‘design’.  The other is how to store and use the resources that will support that design. Over the next few days I will explore both of these concerns, because I think they are urgent and important, and because they fascinate me!
